For part one of the the two DRUMLESSON albums, that CHRISTIAN PROMMER has planned to produce, he recorded 10 of his favourite dance classics as jazz interpretations. Taking his favorite dance tracks of the last two decades and transforming the energy and magic of the originals into a performance of a jazz quartet (piano, drums, perc. and bass) was quite an interesting journey for the composer/producer. All started with the idea to record an acoustic version of the DERRICK MAY classic Strings of Life to warm up for the production of his first solo album. He recorded the basic idea some time ago in his new studio on the country side near Munich. Upright piano played by ROBERTO DI GIOIA and drums by WOLFGANG HAFFNER. Thought of as a "one-off" track for the fun of it, it sat on the shelf for a long time until ALEX BARCK of the JAZZANOVA crew, came by and heard the track. Alex and the rest of the crew got so excited about this tune, playing it in their dj sets all over the world, that they soon decided to release a 12" with this track. Released in May 2007 it was a fast spreading phenomenon.

Kruder & Dorfmeister es un dúo austríaco de música electrónica integrado por los músicos y DJ Peter Kruder y Richard Dorfmeister
Su propuesta musical esta basada en mezclas o remixados con elementos del downtempo, el dub, la música pop, el hip-hop y el drum and bass. Estas mezclas poseen además secciones vocales procesados por sampler, elementos del trip-hop, la bossa nova y otros géneros que dan a su sonido un tinte personal y único.
Kruder and Dorfmeister poseen su propio estudio de grabación, G-Stone Records en Viena, con el que han realizado la mayoría de sus propios álbumes y editado a otros artistas de sonido afin, como Stereotyp, DJ DSL, Rodney Hunter, Urbs, Makossa & Megablast, and Sugar B./Dub Club.

Sigur Rós is an icelandic post-rock band with minimalist elements and of the shoegazing. The name is derived from the name of lead vocalist Jónsi Birgisson’s little sister Sigurrós. According to their website, it is pronounced “si-ur roas (as in roast).” They hail from the same creative and vibrant Icelandic music scene as múm and Amiina. They released their first ever foray into film-making with their tour documentary, Heima in late 2007. They’re currently on hiatus.
